Ryan Collins

I am enamored by motion.

I draw from examples of classic racing, and my own familiarity with speed, along with my knowledge of related fabrication.

My forms are developed from a direct connection to movement. I want to convey a sense of speed; the motion of air over and through the form, even that feeling of exposure and the exhilaration from that vulnerability.

I look to merge my being enamored by motion with mechanics, to capture the experience for the viewer .

Often though, these concepts get rendered through my own outlook on much of life; absurdity.
